The production of the District Line between Gloucester Road and Whitechapel has now been cancelled. Instead, the route runs as far as St. James' Park.
This is because of lack of resources and time to finish the route. However, Gloucester
Road and St. James' Park was fully completed, so will therefore be
released. This short section of the line is fully BVE4 compatible and
contains realistic photorealistic textures, curved platforms,
photographic track textures and traction motor cut-out. A timetable is
also included.
The route will use the C69/77, as the D78 stock is not completed.
Richard Chusney has taken on the D78 stock and will hopefully complete
it.
The route was originally written by Paul Jobber, and has been updated to BVE4 standards by Richard
Helliwell.
Route
Overview
The
route is a non-fictional line on the
London Underground,
and is operated by the D78 stock, made by Metro-Cammell.
The District Line
was opening in 1868 as part of the Metropolitan District railway, with
part of the current Piccadilly line being included in the District.
Nowerdays, the section we are building in BVE4 is part of the Circle
Line too. From Gloucester Road to Tower Hill the Circle Line runs on the
same tracks as our District Line, the splits and continues into
Aldgate, and round up to Liverpool Street. Meanwhile out District Line
tracks continue Eastbound to Whitechapel, and them on to Upminster.
The
BVE4 version runs between Gloucester Road and St James' Park.
The route
features various BVE4 systems, including working
railgaps and LU signaling.
Progress
The route has been released. There will be no
further development of the line, unless someone steps in to take over
and continue my work. If you feel you can do a good job of this, please
contact me.
The following traction is required for the District Line route. Please note that the train listed below is not a production of BRT. Please thank the authors of the traction separately.
