Route
Overview
The Victoria
Line
is a deep-level tube line, using the London Underground 1967 tube
stock, soon to be updated with the 2009TS. The line has one main depot
at Northumberland Park (Off Seven
Sisters). The entire passenger carrying line is Underground. The depot
at Northumberland Park is the only track to be overground.
Since the late 1960s, the Victoria Line has been ATO, however,
this version will contain a Manual version in BVE4 and OpenBVE. And an
ATO version in OpenBVE. The Victoria Line covers 16 stations
most of which interchange with other London Underground lines and
National Rail, Pimlico is the exception. The Victoria Line is
relatively busy at most times of the day, these versions however,
portray a 'rush hour' environment, hence all platforms at relavent
stations will be very busy.
Please do not
run the ATO route file in manual mode as the ATO route file will stop
the train at headway posts (see below for
explanation). Headway posts do not have a visual signal
aspect, therefore you are likely to pass a signal at danger.
In the
Manual version, the commands which require the train to stop at headway
boards in ATO have been removed, meaning that it will only be necessary
to stop at signals which are remaining at danger.
Headway boards:
These act
similarly on the Central line as block marker boards. When the train is
in ATO, it will read these boards as if it were a signal to tell it if
the next section/ block is occupied. The OpenBVE version has a couple
of occasions where it will stop at a Headway boards and signals
automatically, this should explain why the train slows down at
intervals during the route. (depending if the train is on-time)
Progress
All stations and track are complete as far
as Pimlico. The route will be released in conjunction with the release
of the 1967TS (See below).
